Privacy Policy
Effective November 1, 2026. This policy explains what information Great Lakes ADAS Diagnostics ("we") collects through greatlakesmechanic.com and when you call or text us, and how we use it.
What we collect
When you call or text us, we receive your phone number and whatever you choose to share, such as your name, vehicle year, make and model, the problem, where the vehicle is, and when you'd like service. The request form on this website does not send anything to us; it only builds a text message on your device that you choose to send.
When you visit the website, our hosting provider (GitHub Pages) and font provider (Google Fonts) receive standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type in order to deliver the pages. We also use advertising measurement tools from Google Ads. They set cookies or similar technologies to record visits and whether you tap our call or text buttons, so we can tell which ads work. They may combine this with information they already hold about you under their own privacy policies. You can limit this through your browser settings, Google ad settings and Facebook ad preferences.
How we use it
- To respond to you, give estimates, schedule and perform service, and send invoices
- To keep the repair records Michigan law requires
- To follow up about a job you asked us to do
Text messages
We text you only about service you have asked about. We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or text messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving messages from us.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the business (for example our phone and payment providers), with parts suppliers when needed to complete your repair, or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep repair records, estimates and invoices for at least five years, as Michigan's repair facility rules require. Other messages are kept only as long as they're useful for serving you.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete information we aren't required to keep. Call or text 248-270-7204.
Children
Our services are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the effective date above.
